Barry Brant

Who?…

     Barry Brant is an independent artist who writes, records, and produces his own music. Barry is 24 year old musician based out of Cumberland, MD. He is an Independent Artist by day, and Mental Health Clinician by night. He writes the lyrics, records the instrumentals/vocals, produces and mixes the tracks, creates the album art, manages his releases, conducts his PR, books performances, creates the visuals and videos… anything and everything you could think of that goes into creating music, he does himself. Barry has no formal training/education on music production, as he is self-taught. He has taken two years of private piano lessons and enrolled in several years of choir classes academically. What?…

     Barry Brant, the moniker for Barth Frankenberry, releases music that falls into a spectrum of genre. Blending elements of pop, indie-rock, showtune, and folk, the music is often uniquely Barry. Barry's favorite time signature to write in is 3/4, but most of his songs fall in the 4/4 time signature. Barry's favorite key to write in is F, and his favorite chord is Fmaj7, although he writes songs in many different keys.

When?…

     Barry Brant's first single ‘The First Time’ was released on all streaming platforms July 26th, 2025. This is the first single of two off of his upcoming debut album “Everything's Coming Up Roses”. While this is the first era of music from Barry Brant, Barth Frankenberry previously released music under the pseudonym ‘barry!’. Under ‘barry!’, his first single ‘Say You Love Me (One Last Time)’ debuted November 19th 2021, on all streaming platforms. Barry has been performing since his youth but did not begin publishing and releasing independent work until 2021.

Where?…

     Barry's studio is in his basement and utilizes quite a few pieces of tech to create the tracks you hear. Instrumentally, Barry utilizes an Electronic Upright piano, Portable MIDI Keyboard, and an MPK Mini. These devices connect to a MAC Mini, which runs Logic Pro-X. Barry records his vocals with a Shure SM7B, which is powered by a Triton FetHead Pre-Amp, connected to a Scarlett 2i2 Interface. For playback, he uses Sennheiser 280 Pro headphones and KRK Classic 5 Monitors. Barry utilizes Splice for samples. He uses two monitors, one ultra-wide computer monitor at his desk for mixing/mastering/production, and mirrors to a Samsung 32" mounted TV above his upright piano for recording. Why?…

     Barry makes music primarily because he enjoys it, and it is a healthy outlet. Barry also releases music in hopes of developing a full-time career in the performing arts/composition sector. While Barry enjoys working in the Human Services field, his first love and true passion will always be the arts. Barry's long term goal is to combine both the arts and psychology through a non-profit platform, in hopes of bringing therapeutic healing to underserved populations who need it most.

MISSION STATEMENT

Growing up in Western Maryland and spending time on his family farm in West Virginia, Barry Brant is grateful for the privilege of knowing nature, loving Earth, and connecting with that from which we come. Brant is determined to cut waste and overconsumption at its roots, by inheriting an “on demand” model regarding all merchandise and online purchased physical media produced for and by the Barry Brant image. By adopting this method of production, we cut waste and over-production, leaving Mother Earth as clean and healthy as possible.

Brant is devoted to adopting new methods and measures to increase sustainability and impact to communities near and far. As he does this, delivery times may take longer than expected for various products, but he is always upfront about that. Transparency is a core tenant of Brant’s philosophy, and as Brant grows and develops music and art that impacts you, he hopes to also expand and impact our communities and those around us as well. As a new and emerging independent artist, Brant desires to keep ethics and sustainability at the forefront of his mission statement. 

Brant is an independent artist, and all proceeds from merchandise and media purchases return to him directly, whether to further invest in his art or receive profit thereof. Brant owns 100% of all recordings and projects, unless stated otherwise. Brant emphasizes the importance of “credit where credit is due”, and continues to build and foster an environment of acknowledgement and mutual support. All featured artists and contributors will ALWAYS be credited accordingly.
